SYNOPSIS:

Lisa Conroy (Regina Hall – The Hate U Give, Girl’s Trip) is the last person you’d expect to find in a highway-side ‘sports bar with curves’, but as general manager at Double Whammies, she’s come to love the place and its customers. An incurable den mother, she nurtures and protects her girls fiercely – but over the course of one trying day, her optimism is battered from every direction. Double Whammies sells a big, weird American fantasy, but what happens when reality pokes a bunch of holes in it?

SUPPORT THE GIRLS is a critically-acclaimed, crowd-pleasing indie comedy from acclaimed writer/director Andrew Bujalski (Mutual Appreciation, Funny Ha Ha, Computer Chess) featuring a fantastic female ensemble cast including Haley Lu Richardson (Columbus, The Edge Of Seventeen), Shayna McHayle (recording artist Junglepussy), Dylan Gelula (Her Smell, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), AJ Michalka (Super 8, The Lovely Bones), Brooklyn Decker (Just Go With It, Battleship), Jana Kramer (90210, One Tree Hill) and Lea DeLaria (Orange Is The New Black).

The film, also starring James Le Gros (Certain Women, Drugstore Cowboy), won Regina Hall the New York Film Critic’s Cirle Award for Best Actress as well as Best Actress nominations at the Independent Spirit and Gotham Awards, and it featured on Barack Obama’s Best Films of 2018 list!
